METAL TO INFINITY
Hi there folks - allow me start this review with the three letter word WOW! Being a defender of Heavy Metal for decades, I have to say that my knowledge in the Polish Metal movement is not that big. I've met a few in the past such as Kat, Turbo, Destroyer or Vader to name but a few - actually I didn't follow the Poland based Metal scene not that fanatic but I always knew that this country got valuable Metal treasures on the list. Maybe I've missed a lot in the past but this time is the right time for me...
I've just received the debut album from a Polish quintet listened to the name Spiritual Demise! Basically started in 2007, almost hard to believe how strong a band can grow during their two years of existence. I mean what I tell you right now - it's not that usual bands appear on the Metal horizon with
such a brilliant debut CD... entitled ''Between The Lines'', Spiritual Demise impressed me in many ways.
Name of these guys' game is actually a blend of Power and mainly, excellent Thrash Metal with both old school and nowadays vibes to enjoy. And so the story repeats itself - such a great and very potential
band appear with a splendid album, unfortunately without a record in hands. Actually pity for these guys so my recall to check Spiritual Demise out in hope they'll approach by a particular label soon is sincere!
Great artwork, whole packaging looks really good, production more than just acceptable... and I even don't say a damn thing about the music right! It's just beautiful to hear the way how they build up their songs. This is not Power / Thrash Metal based by playing only at high velocities - on the contrary these guys bring on their works fully concentrated on musical details. Sometimes they turn on the speed for real but fact is that the temporary tempo changes takes me by the throat.
This is what I call, technical Power / Thrash Metal from a high calibre.
As for the vocal lines - well quite unique and not that simple to compare with other frontmen but I'd like to give it a try anyway; in some ways, Spiritual Demise's singer does remind of Brian Zimmerman from US Thrashers Atrophy and Chuck Billy performing with Testament way back in the early eighties. Take it for what it's worth - it's my personal meaning so... Also be prepared for a whole bunch of neck snapping rhythms with both
awesome guitar riffs and solo's in the vein of J. Waters (Annihilator), A. Skolnick / B. Peterson (Testament), Kirk Hammett (Metallica),... technical and melodic all the way!
I've had a real good time listening to all of the songs - besides an intro, there will be unleashed 9 full songs in full power thrashing mode. Go take a look at:

without a band like this, the general Thrash Metal movement won't be complete at all. Very promising band - awesome album - I'm pleased to the extreme and hope you'll feel the same way too!
MY POINTS: 94 / 100
